Ok so one of the things I wanted to do was to create a list of changes and improvements that will help us lead more natural, healthy lives. I am sometimes non-commital so I figure if i put it out there for the world to see, I have to live by it (I think it’s my integrity that makes me scared to commit but that’s an Oprah [oh how sad, there’s no more Oprah] for another day. My list will probably change and you’ll notice that a lot of these things are seriously vague (please see #13-geez louise). But I’ll be more specific once I’m ready to start tackling them. Big breath…here we go:
- Recycle more, throw away less
- Reduce the number of one-time use bags we use
- Stop using SLS based shampoos and soaps (for baby too) – this means no ‘poo!!!
- Begin using a natural toothpaste
- Eat homemade meals at least four nights each week
- Reduce our water consumption
- Use primarily cloth/hybrid diapers until our baby is potty trained
- Reduce electricity consumption in the house
- Compost (this will be tricky as we have no yard)
- Limit fast food to once a month
- Limit soda to once a month
- Reduce the amount of high fructose corn syrup in my diet
- Exercise
- Switch to cloth wipes
- Drink more water (because I needed a nice round number)
